The Brüsseler Kreis (Brussels Circle) is a collaboration of the major Protestant and Catholic social enterprises in Germany.
Our values are based on the unconditional respect of human dignity and freedom for every individual person – this is the main focus of our firm’s image. We are social service firms, which have the Christian duty of assisting people with the aim of giving them more autonomy, so that they can take part in the society and church.
We position ourselves at the junction between an emerging Europe and a developing social state. With their innovative social services, enterprises belonging to the Brüsseler Kreis are regarded as active partners in the European social market.
Dr. Berthold Broll chief executive of the Liebenau foundation is speaker of the Brüsseler Kreis. Alongside him the following belong to the group of spokespersons: Christian Dopheide chief executive of the Evangelische Stiftung Hephata (vice-chairman speaker) and Wolfgang Egert, business manager of the Norddeutsche Gesellschaft für Diakonie Group (past president).
Karin Bumann is in charge of the office.
The Brüsseler Kreis is active in providing care for persons with disabilities, the elderly, youth and in education. With about 40,000 workers and more than 35,000 in-patient, partly-in patient and out-patient care services we obtain about 100,000 clients yearly and a turnover of around € 1.7 billion.
